An intimate and stylish London Elopement at Old Marylebone Town Hall

What was it like working with Parrot and Pineapple photography?

We loved working with you! You were so calm and cool and we felt so comfortable and at ease around you, which is not easy to pull off when you’re meeting someone for the first time on your wedding day! You were a star at getting all the family shots we wanted and our portrait session afterwards was just relaxed and fun.

What was it like planning your Old Marylebone Town Hall Elopement?

We got engaged and then decided to get married just a month later! We wanted to get married as quickly as possible, so I could begin the visa process to join Adam in the UK and end the torture of long-distance. Both Adam’s family and mine live in Trinidad and the United States. Due to the short notice of our wedding, we figured it would just be Adam and I. When we told our families our plan they immediately booked flights and came to support us. We were really touched!

Why did you choose to get married at Old Marylebone Town Hall?

Having been a student in London in years prior, I knew I wanted to be married in a registry office in London. I did some googling and saw the Old Marylebone Town Hall had recently been reopened after renovations and had beautiful small intimate rooms, just big enough to fit our families.

What did you both wear for your small wedding and why?

We wanted to keep it simple. I wore a white wrap dress and Adam wore a navy suit.

What was your ceremony like?

We wanted to keep our ceremony as simple as possible. Our plan is to have a religious wedding next year at home in Trinidad, so we decided to save readings and the exchange of rings for that ceremony. For this ceremony, we chose some of our favourite songs for the signing and that was pretty much it. Favourite bit of the ceremony was our exchange of vows, it was extremely emotional.Couple portrait on London street Old Marylebone Town Hall Elopement

What is your advice to other couples getting married?

Do it your way. People mean well but their opinions can be very overwhelming. The only thing that matters is that you and your partner are on the same page.
